Dr. Garden in a private communication has remarked that much stress has been laid upon the relation between canal irrigation and the fever of Saharunpore as cause and effect, and suggested that a reference should be made to a correspondence with the Medical Board in 1818, regarding excessive fever in this district before canal irrigation had been introduced.
